do you remember?
•
what it feels like to be a
kid?
•
no?
•
you don’t remember the early overcast mornings?
•
the cool, glittering glaze of ice, frosting the grassy field?
•
how it crunched underneath your feet?
•
how your footprints left a dark, wet, melted design in the shape of your happiness?
•
do you remember?
•
being friends with everyone in your class?
•
or at least knowing everyone?
•
silent reading time?
•
the book fair?
•
art projects just for fun?
•
recess games and sharing snacks?
•
trips to the computer lab and the library?
•
what about the end of the day?
•
sweaty from the sun overtaking the clouds,
your bright jacket from earlier stuffed in your backpack?
•
the snack you had when you got home?
•
the lack of stress and procrastination?
•
can you remember?
•
because I can’t stop.
